It's in style of Stevie Ray Vaughen's shuffle.
---- Tips on improvisation in Blues ----
1. Mix up Major pentatonic and minor pentatonic scale.
Most of blues players (not fusion blues) like BBking, Albert King, Freddie King, Jimi Hendrix, SRV, Eric Clapton, Albert Collins, Buddy Guy, John Mayer etc, they mix up Major pentatonic and minor pentatonic to get bluesy sound. This is different approach than playing Mixolydian scale.

Here is the most common way to mix them up;
Major & minor pentatonic on chord â…
minor pentatonic on chord â…£ & â…¤.
Especially if you wanna highlight chord progression, switch to minor pentatonic when you hit chord â…£ & â…¤. It's the easiest way to take listeners to different tonality world.

2. Playing chord tones to highlight the harmony.
Jimi Hendrix, SRV, John Mayer use this approach especially when they play turnarounds.
Here are some examples;
The most popular SRV's turnaround lick.
