This week is the week before Christmas. All through the web folks are posting videos about it. I am no exception. Most of these will be secular, but I will interject the meaning of ancient traditions which go back centuries. As the lights and bells in this video. They have a meaning that is mostly unknown to modern folks. <br />In the days before electricity and gas folks lit their homes and everything else with candles or kerosene lamps. They were used at Christmas to show that the Light of the World was born. The bells are an ancient form of announcement of death, birth, good events and disasters. The tinkling bells are happy and portend joyous events. While the low bells of a church announced the death of a parishioner. Many of our customs were brought here to America from other countries around the world. Some had nothing to do with Jesus at all.
