The Local Haunts Tag ~ A Glimpse into the Horrortube and Booktube Anthology Local Haunts
Here is a tag based on the booktube and horrortube anthology Local Haunts. Watch the original tag video by Dane Cobain - https://youtu.be/4-KHWvUkfD4

First, here are a few images of the Dionne Quints Museum. It isn’t haunted, but that never stopped people from investigating it, saying the ghost of one of their brother’s is trapped in the closet, and other myths. The attic of the house is creepy, I can assure you, as are some of the dolls and damaged artefacts they don’t display. For this one, I am going to tell you a little about a different local haunt.

0:00 Intro and About the Tag
1:52 The Questions
10:01 About the Stories of Local Haunts

The Questions!

Question One: Local Haunts: Tell us about a creepy or spooky place that's close to you.

The Hostel Jail. This is a now hostel and former jail in Ottawa that was the scene of the local gallows. There are haunted walks held here now, and events like our wedding. You can see photos of tha ton my website and the video I helped produce that was shot there, Things Arn’t What They Seem by Patron Saint of Plagues. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eE7zkm67N8

Question Two: A Stone’s Throw: Tell us about a story with a young female character who has a tough life.

True Crime by Samatha Kolesnick. There are a lot of books that fit here but this was the most recent that stuck with me the most

Question Three: Crowthorne: Tell us about a story with a harmful friendship.

The Monster of Elendhaven by Jennifer Geisbrecht. It is hard to tell who is more toxic here but it is a vile and lyrical read all the same.

Question Four: Screen Eight: Tell us about a movie that scares you and that’s based on a true story.

The Amityville Horror! Way what you will, something tragic happened in this house with a vague supernatural twist. The Jay Anson retelling is scary, and the film is horrific!

Question Five: The Mount of Death. Beer me! Tell us about a story where a drink plays a role in the plot.

The Shining by Stephen King. Certainly, as much as the Overlook itself is a character here, alcohol its evil twin. The drink Jack takes in the Colorado Lounge is the pivot of this story, unlike anything else.

Question Six: The Blocked Cellar: Tell us about your favourite horror, paranormal or true crime YouTube channel.

Murder Was The Case with Dr. Lee Mellor. They come and go on Youtube, so I have to stick with a podcast here. MWTC is special to me and not for the faint of heart.

Question Seven: The Night Watchman: Tell us about a story that's set partly at night.

Night in the Lonesome October by Richard Laymon. A lof of urban horror takes place at night, and this one has a reason. It really captures the transformation of a city at night too. Creepy crawly stuff.

Question Eight: Alone Among the Gum Tre
...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGuf3aPRjJo
