From the point of view of the supposed biography as given by Ibn Hisham, Muhammad is clearly a composite myth, even if there were historical figures that inspired the myth to a greater or lesser extent, such as, Iyas Ibn Qabisah, the camel lover, the founder of the Tayaye Kingdom, or Umar/Khalid, the warrior who had a road to Damascus-like conversion, taking on the name Muhammad in the 630s, in honour of Christ.
