On twitter, at the time of shooting we were at 39% On Stage and 61% All Digital, and 37% to 63% on YouTube in the same direction. It seems you guys all love Apple’s digital events!
The one that could change, assuming easier travel by this point would be WWDC - as that’s an in person developer conference so if the physical event can happen in 2021 (most likely on June 1st). I have to say though I found it interesting how much everyone seems to like the digital format. Apple has done a great job of giving them a sense of place - connecting the segments with amazing flights around Apple Park in Cupertino, and one thing I think is great is that it levels everyone - there’s not difference for the elite tech journalists from the rest of us, we all get the events at the same time, so we don’t feel like second class citizens at home. I’m just hoping we continue to see as many, if not more events in 2021, starting, we hope, this month.

macOS Big Sur 11.3 Beta 3 New Features
Big Sur 11.3 Beta 3 is here, and 11.3 is bringing some new and improved features. There’s quite a lot so we’ll fly through and whatever sounds most interesting to you let me know in the comments and we’ll dive deeper in a future video.

Landing an iMac on Mars
I am a space geek and I have a feeling a lot of the people who watch my shows also probably have at least a passing interest in space exploration and the tech around it, so I think this is a really fascinating story. Now it came to my notice via MacRumors but I’ve researched a bit more into this.
The Perseverance mission launched from Cape Canaveral’s Pad 41 on top of an Atlas V on July 30th 2020, arriving and landing on Mars on February 18th 2021 and landing in Jezero Crater after being slowed by the Martian atmosphere and then a parachute, before finally being lowered to the surface by sky crane. That’s basically a rocket powered frame that hovers over the surface as the rover is lowered down, the tethers are cut and the sky crane flies away to crash land a safe distance away.

Perseverance also has 2Gigs of flash memory, an enormous 256Mb of RAM and 256kb of electrically erasable programable ROM. The Rover also has an inertial measurement unit which gives 3 axis information to the processor on the orientation and attitude of the rover, think of something like the accelerometer in your iPhone.

Noah’s Ark of iCave Answers

Tech Hyped
#icaveanswers as
...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8feLCc5Z_Ek
