Very Old Bodark (Osage Orange) Fence Posts Still Solid As Steel
Know by many names, perhaps because of its versatility as a tree, the Osage Orange tree, also know as Bodark, Bois D'arc, Hedge, Hedge Apple, is a tree that dates back to the dinosaur age. It's fruit look like something Godzilla would have for dessert. The wood has been used for rail road ties, fence post, furniture, house piers because it is extremely rot resistan. Bug don't eat it and humidity does not rot it. Today, I show you an old fence that has been over taken by trees. You can see the hackberry trees grow around the bodark fence posts.
