Coffee & Christian Worldview<br />Episode 14<br /><br />Show Notes:<br /><br />Part 3 on whether you should start a Christian podcast.<br /><br />"I've got the knowledge component. I've studied and researched. I think I have something to say and can say it clearly."<br /><br />Well, hold on. One more question.<br /><br />Do you *know* your views are biblical? Meaning, do you own them? Are you believing it because you believe it is the system of doctrine taught by Scripture?<br /><br />Can you show the views you have adopted from Scripture itself?<br /><br />Can you biblically reason? Can you work backwards to the Bible?<br /><br />Two ways to say this:<br />- Reverse Engineering<br />- Starting with the Endgame<br /><br />3 Bible Study Questions:<br />1. What does God's Word say?<br />2. What's your interpretation?<br />3. How do you know that your understanding is faithful to the rest of the Scriptures?<br /><br />This is learning at the most basic level.<br /><br />You will be communicating what you think is biblical, and you should be able to back it up.<br /><br />Know your view and know your Bible.<br /><br />There are a lot of "internet disciples." The quotes and memes may be sound. But can they work backwards to show it from Scripture?<br /><br />Podcasting could just be higher-level meme-sharing. Can you show your work?<br /><br />You will be seen as an authority, and will be held responsible.<br /><br />Test case: Spurgeon quote.<br />"The biggest lie the devil ever told was that churches could win souls with entertainment."<br />You should be able to work that out with ease, from the Scriptures.<br />Work with biblical categories.<br /><br />If you cannot reason from the Scriptures, then you should not podcast.<br /><br />What about the “interview format” podcast?<br /><br />Is that the way to both learn and podcast at the same time?<br /><br />Surprise: that’s more work.<br />More people, more complexity.<br /><br />Are you paying your guests?
