I've been getting nose bleeds my whole life and I'm a pro at getting rid of them. Apparently I have a blood vessel that terminates in one or both of my nostrils and when the weather gets too dry it tends to trigger a nose bleed. The funny thing is that you're already reaching for exactly what you need to stop the bleeding, you're just doing it all wrong. Instead of plugging your nose with tissue or paper towels, roll it up and stuff it under your upper lip. Then you can go about cleaning up the mess and get back to whatever you were doing before the nose bleed. I have found that this trick works for more than 90% of the people who try it.
