TI Tuesdays - The Op - Amp Part 1
Op-Amp's, Open Loop Gain, Output Phase Reversal, Infinite Input impedance, Zero Output Impedance, Infinite Gain... Do you know what all these refer to, if not then start watching.

This is the first of a series called TI Tuesdays where I will showcase a different TI product each week (On A Tuesday). This can be anything from a small component to a full blown evaluation board or system. Either way TI sells it.

I will be covering ADCs, DACs, I2C and SPI Isolators, LED controllers, Boost and Buck converters, Launchpads, Booster Packs, Oh and probably Beaglebone (Pick your colour) as it runs on a TI Sitara Processor too :).

I am kicking off the series by looking at the TI TL082 JFet op-amp along with the TI Application Report from a while back. The nice thing is the report is as applicable today as it was when written back in 2001. (Analogue basics have not changed much)

I will be using the TL082 to show how Op-Amps work and to demonstrate a few peculiarities of JFet and other varieties, particularly the Phase Reversal or the output. I will take you through Open Loop Gain, the 3 principles of the Ideal Op-Amp that make life so much easier by simplifying the calculations needed to model the device. There will only be one video in the Ti Tuesdays regarding this Op-Amp but the walk through the Application Report will continue as it provides so much wealth of information as to how the lowly op-amp works and I think there are so many people that would like to understand.

If there is a TI component you would like me to add to the list of components to present on TI Tuesdays, leave a comment and I will see what I can do.

Lastly, I would like to thank TI for supporting me with this endeavour. They have graciously sent me many varied products to use for the series and I look forward to sharing them with you all.

On May 29th 2016 I am also kicking off a TI IoT week where there will be a video every day building an IoT enabled device that can be part of a home automation or monitoring system. I will be adding to the basic controller each day and by the end of the week we will have a working IoT device monitoring Temperature, Light, and possibly Humidity, sending the data to the Cloud and responding to commands from a master controller based on the BBB.

Here is the link to "Handbook of Operational Amplifier Applications", http://www.ti.com/lit/an/sboa092a/sboa092a.pdf

and the TL082 technical PDF http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tl082-n.pdf
See you there.
...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-53jY7TjO8
