Timing : 0:01 Introduction / Nosing & Tasting : 2:30 Shelter Point « Double Barrel »/Batch 5 « A Coastal Whisky », Blackberry wine cask, 50 % / 8:55 Shelter Point « Infinity Bottle" blended by Foodquig , 50 %
Disclaimer :
1/ My connection problem is still going, so this is a less in depth video, especially information wise...More to come when all will be fixed as I have planned to go LIVE with SHELTER POINT’s master distiller Leon Webb & Andy (aka Foodquig) who kindly provided these samples & a lot of others.
2/ Please read the description below as I mistaked on the second sample (Andy helped me understand what I was trying actually...thanks to him).

Some brief INFORMATIONS about SHELTER POINT Distillery :

SHELTER POINT Distillery is a craft Canadian distillery located in Vancouver Island (British Colombia), founded in in 2009 (in fact the idea started in 2005 when a farmer, Patrick Evans, decided to produce grains & barley for the purpose of distilling whisky. They have one mashtun & 5 stainless steel washbacks, a pair of stills & several warehouses (a big new one has just been inaugurated). The distilling started in 2011, and they use their own local barley. They produce whisky, but also gin & vodka (for round 125 000 liters of alcohol per year.) & temporarily hand sanitizers recently because of the covid crisis. For whisky only, the farm-distillery proposes a lot of different expressions, whether they use malted or unmalted barley, or both, corn, rye (some is sourced), different cask types as well, including local ex-wine casks & peated ones from Islay, Scotland.

SHELTER POINT Expressions tasted here :

1/ SHELTER POINT « Double Barreled »/Batch 5 « A Coastal Whisky » ,nicknamed « Sugar coated Jelly Donut », a 6 yo + whisky (bottled in 2019?), made of 6 grain & malt American oak casks, finished in Vancouver Island’s Coastal Black Winery Blackerry Wine casks (ex-French oak), and then married for 75 days in Shelter Point « Double barreled » French oak casks, 50 %

2/ From SHELTER POINT distillery, the FOOQUIG'S "Infinity Bottle", 50 % which I confused with the « Double Barreled » (supposed from 2020), nicknamed « 235 Days of Pinot noir », Single malt, finished in Pinot noir casks, 46 % (sorry guys !). An even more unique sample from Andy/Foodquig then !

REMINDER:
Greg’s Whisky Guide Social Media & Creative Activities:

First off, if you like what you saw : Please #LikeAndSubscribe & if you wanna make sure not to miss further content, #ClickOnTheNotificationBell !

My whisky website : www.gregswhiskyguide.com
(Note that there is a contact address link if needed, but if you’re in a hurry, here it is one you can use:
