Remastered by the Editor of Classic Clips<br /><br />Classic Clips has once again remastered another great video, this time the documentary, 'The Great Escape: Bringing Fact to Fiction', narrated by Burt Reynolds. It was our desire to honor the POW war veterans interviewed in this documentary who were actually prisoners of Stlag Luft III during World War II in 1944 and who escaped and who are also depicted in the movie, 'The Great Escape.'<br /><br />We felt it vital to preserve such an incredible and important part of history - lest we forget the tragedy and horror of war and especially the heroes who gave their lives for freedom and their valiant, selfless service to humanity.<br /><br />The actual film clips originally seen in this documentary (in widescreen) were carefully remastered from the motion picture, clip by clip, and justified at Standard 48kz NTSC video (4:3), to match that of the documentary footage itself.<br /><br />During the escape in March of 1944, 50 POWs were recaptured and shot by the Nazi Gestapo.<br /><br />We, like the heroes in this documentary, dedicate this Remastered Video to 'The 50'.
