Mole Snake (Pseudaspis cana) - non-venomous, but can inflict a painful bite.<br /><br />*Please click on the button below to "Share" this video!*<br /><br />--<br /><br />I retrieved this Mole Snake from a garden in Parklands North earlier today.<br /><br />The residents were working in the garden when they noticed part of the snake’s body behind their wooden fencing. They called me and kept watching it for me until I arrived.<br /><br />This one was quite lively and tried to get out of the bucket a couple of times, but I captured him and relocated him safely elsewhere.<br /><br />Mole snakes are found in a variety of habitats, even mountainous regions and deserts, but they're particularly common in sandy scrub-covered and grassveld regions.<br /><br />They spend most of their time underground, pushing their way through soft sand in search of moles and other rodents.
