Draw Realistic Legs
I start all my figures with the swimsuit shape and draw lines to circles where the knees are. Then connect to smaller circles where the ankle connects to the foot. The legs do not travel down to the feet in a straight line but change direction at the knees. <br /><br />Male figures typically have more angular mass and muscle definition. That is why it is helpful to sketch in the underlying muscles even if you are not drawing a superhero. In fact, these drawings depict more everyday figures. They would end up being seven heads tall as opposed to the typical eight found in comics. I try to make form and symmetry corrections when I trace over the form in pencil, and the final step in ink.<br /><br />Since I am not a seasoned illustrator, I make a good deal of corrections inn photoshop as I go. I find the liquefy tool extremely useful to correcting shapes without having to redraw muscles.
