MIckey Denton - Fighting back
Mickey Denton is one of the finest blue eyed singers that Detroit soul music ever produced. He spent a lot of the 1960s working with Harry Balk for his Inferno and Impact labels, and in fact he did a great duet with Harry's wife, Patti Jerome. He then joined Motown through Harry Balk, and recorded for Rare Earth records. He's known for his super rare record on Mala records "Now I'm Mr Blue", a legendary record and which is very rare and expensive. He began performing in the early 1960s with the likes of Del Shannon and Johnny and the Hurricanes, but failed to find chart success. He was a frequent performer on the Las Vegas Strip in the 1970s and often performed with a group called "The Casinos". He later formed an electronic synthesizer based band called "The New York Express". The group recorded their first album in 1981, produced by Ron Gaines at Chene Records. One of Denton's best known songs is "Now You Can't Give Them Away". He also recorded "Tell Her", a song by fellow Detroiter Jamie Coe in the early 1960s. But his stuff for the Impact label was legendary.
...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Esk0njRnQFQ
