Full Episode Coming March 13th.<br /><br />In this 3 part video series I am going to share my design process and go over the evolutions of our Greenhouse. This Greenhouse is a modified version of the Fibonacci 1 from our Holistic Homes Fibonacci Collection. <br /><br />With only 3 weeks left in the construction of our first Earthship Inspired, Holistic Homes Greenhouse, winter has offered us some time to reflect on the build and evolve its design. <br /><br />Using Sketchup, I am going to redesign the Holistic Homes Greenhouse from the ground up. I will go over the process, evolutions, and reasons for each evolution, and the greenhouse overall.<br /><br />In this episode we start from scratch, laying out the first rectangle that will serve as the earth upon which we will build. Once the overall shape and size of the building has been figured out, we start designing the Trex composite plates, pine sil plates, figure out the size and position of the front vertical glass, how the glass will be notched into the framing, the entry door location, and the mid wall height. With those established we can begin to figure out the front roof rafters, glass, and roof pitch and height. When we move to the back we can layout the rafters, figure out the roofs pitch, and how they all meet on the mid bearing wall. We wrap up by finishing the layout for all the rafters, the facia, blocking, ladders, and gable wall framing.<br /><br />Its quite a process but time-lapse really helps.
