Rush’s drummer Neil Peart co-wrote the lyrics to “Tom Sawyer” with Pye Dubois, lyricist for the band Max Webster.<br /><br />Peart explained:<br /> <br />"[Pye’s] original lyrics were kind of a portrait of a modern day rebel, a free-spirited individualist striding through the world wide-eyed and purposeful.
