It is a spin-off of the Like a Dragon series, formerly and commonly known in English localization as Yakuza. It was originally released in February 2014 exclusively in Japan, serving as a launch title for the PlayStation 4. It is a remake of Like a Dragon: Ishin! and was released in February 2023 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
