Beneath the Dwarven Castle is one of the Dark Crystals that Golbez need. As the party head to the chamber, they encounter a series of dolls named Calco and Brina. It's a two-phase fight so listen up.<br /><br />Phase 1 has you dealing with the six dolls. You can actually prevent Phase 2 from happening if you take down each Calca and Brina doll one by one. That would work but you would miss out on Phase 2. Once a certain number of dolls are destroyed, they fuse together. This only happens if you take out all of one half of the dolls. Fortunately it's no issue.<br /><br />The bigger issue happens later when Golbez shows up. There's a reason why this guy is a force to be reckoned with and this is also the only boss fight where you face him. He starts the fight by trapping your party in an Ice Bind. He then summons a Shadow Dragon who uses Black Fangs on your party. Just as it's ready to unleash the finishing blow, the Mist Dragon shows up and takes down the dragon. Yep. Rydia's back but she's older. Older Rydia has access to all Black Magic spells and her full summoning potential. Plus she gets an improved sprite.<br /><br />With the Shadow Dragon down, focus on getting your teammates revived then go on the offensive. Rydia can focus on unleashing black magic or summons while Cecil and Rosa heal/revive the others. It's not a tough fight and you should be able to survive it if you are prepared.<br /><br />Golbez is defeated but in an unexpected yet idiotic twist, he's reduced to a hand and simply steals the Dark Crystal WHILE CECIL AND HIS PARTY ARE WATCHING! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING CECIL!? GET HIM! GOD DAMMIT! Anyway, they report to King Giott and knowing that there's one Crystal left, he decides to have them go to the Tower of Babel to recover the other crystals. A bit of a risk I tell you.
