Shanidar 1 Neanderthal reconstruction By Andy Serkis
Anatomical Facial Reconstruction of Neanderthal using modern forensic techniques (Shanidar 1, "Ned" previously animated prior to craniofacial trauma injury by Andy Serkis, trailer here: https://youtu.be/nC_Co4U9jA4)
Here depicted at around 40 years old, with long-term healed trauma to the left side of head, causing facial asymmetry, possible blindness and deafness on the left, plus contralateral partial paralysis of withered right arm and leg, indicated by postcranial skeletal asymmetry and healed break to metatarsal on right foot, exaggerating limp. He would not have been able to hunt or look after himself for most of his adult life, yet he survived another 20 years, to a relatively old age, and was buried in a family group! This is the most compelling evidence to date that Neanderthals cared for and looked after one another.
Here's the anthropology summary from the Smithsonian: http://humanorigins.si.edu/.../human.../fossils/shanidar-1
Finished facial models animated using @MyHeritage #deepnostalgia AI.
Work in progress - hair, facial hair and feather decoration follow soon.
...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRFP5ogBUyU
