In this interview with Al Mayadeen, Dr Marcus Papadopoulos explained that history teaches us no matter how powerful a country or empire is, people cannot be suppressed forever. In regard to the American Empire, or the Yankee Empire, or the Anglo-American Empire, however you wish to describe the West’s hold over much of the world, Dr Marcus said that this is declining, which helps to explain why the Israeli ruling elite are starting to demonstrate signs of apprehension. In addition to that, Dr Marcus said that another factor accounting for growing Israeli apprehension is the deteriorating relationship between Israel and Russia. He contended that because Israel has behaved deceitfully pertaining to the war in Ukraine, Moscow is taking steps to distance itself from Tel Aviv. Thus, whilst once Israel could boast of having a strong relationship with one superpower, America, and a good, practical relationship with the other superpower, Russia, Israel can no longer say this.
