Maghera Old Church - Newcastle, County Down
Maghera was on an important route-way and King John stopped at the original monastery in the field beside the church in July 1210 en route from Waterford to Downpatrick via Carlingford.
The 13th century church, which is beside the old tower, is a ruined rectangular building with its high west gable still standing to its original height together with the north wall. The other walls are reduced close to foundation level. A possible altar foundation can be seen against the interior of the east wall. There is a narrow window, probably original, set high and east-of-centre in the north wall, with a semicircular head and internal splays. The western door is now a gap, while the entrance gap in the south wall with rebuilt jamb stones is of doubtful date.

Location: 54.237734, -5.896226
...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxbBezwjVkI
