Banjo Tooie is my favorite game of all time, bar none. The imaginative level design, the comedic characters, the sheer number of nooks and crannies to explore -- it all blew my mind as a kid more than 20 years ago. Looking back now, I’m amazed at how brilliantly all those elements fit together, like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle.<br /><br />You see, Banjo Tooie’s levels don’t just exist independently. They’re all interconnected, adjacent to each other like the pieces of that puzzle. That’s what I wanted to explore in this video: not just how the individual levels stand strong, but also how the levels are interwoven with train tracks, tunnels, and character stories. <br /><br />If you’ve never played Banjo Tooie, good news: you don’t need a Nintendo 64 to do it. It’s readily available on Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Series X/S via Game Pass.
