It’s the 1983 Ford CLT9000 COE by Neo Scale Models in 64th Scale.<br /><br />The Ford CLT-9000 coe was a line-haul cab-over semi-tractor that came out in the 70s & was produced well into the 80s. It was often nicknamed the 2 Story Ford due to its height. Though this height was a design benefit as it allowed a low doghouse over the engine so that you could lay out across the seats or have easy entry into the sleeper.<br /><br />Being a Kentuckian, I have always had a soft spot for Ford Heavy Duty Trucks, since they were built just down the road from me in Louisville. It’s nice to have some home-state pride rolling up & down the highways. The Kentucky Truck Plant was more than 68 acres under roof on a 415 acre site. When these trucks were built it was one of the largest & most modern manufacturing plants in the world. Back then, KTP Assembly Line Number 3 was dedicated to the production of Ford’s top of the line CLT-Series Cab-Overs & LTL Conventionals. The plant is still in operation today producing Ford F-250 up to F-550 Super-Duty pickups, the Ford Expedition, & the Lincoln Navigator.<br /><br />Ford made awesome heavy highway trucks back in the day. And this was the pinnacle of their cab over fleet, the CLT-9000.<br /><br />Now on with the Neo Scale Models 64th Scale CLT-9000. This one has a die-cast chassis with a resin cab. It comes in a clear plastic lid with a black plastic base to make display case. That display case does a nice job at protecting the model from the elements & keeping the dust off it because well, none of us really like to dust our models because it's tedious work to clean them up.
