☯️I believe that we love contrast. We love both the feeling of deprivation and the sensations of abundance, the sleeping and the waking, the hating and the longing. And we even love the liminal space between polarities that many are courageous enough to pass through...beyond the comfort of the familiar and into the wild unknown of newness. <br /><br />A few years ago, when I moved to Miami, my friend @drmayashetreat channeled the recommendation that I might consider a pet for my daughter - and for her experience of unconditional love in this life. Despite my “Cats are gross and I don’t like dogs anymore” ‘tude, I followed the small yes inside.<br /><br />🐈🐓I adopted one and then another kitty, and then 8 chickens, and my entire life changed. My heart came online in ways I had never felt, and I stabilized in a new relationship to the dimensions of my inner girl who felt listened to, heard, and seen by this dramatic lifestyle and priority shift. <br /><br />When I have done parts work, my “exiles” (see a personal live demo in my Sovereignty Series!) always want to play dress up, dance, and play with animals. Well, that’s pretty much my life these days, and finding these photos of myself as a little thing almost knocked my socks off. <br /><br />I have about 10 photos of my childhood, and 4 of them are with animals...of the specific variety I now know and love.
