As we explained in the previous video 2.4b, numbers that are written in scientific notation can be multiplied or divided directly by using properties of exponents. Unlike adding and subtracting with scientific notation, the powers of 10 do not need to be alike to multiply or divide. We walk-through division of two problems with positive exponents for powers of 10, a problem with negative exponents for the powers of 10, and a word problem involving rate, distance, and time as r=d/t.
