Trump FINALLY Agrees To Give Financial Documents To Congress
After a three-year battle that has resulted in numerous court losses for Trump, the former President has finally reached an agreement with House Oversight Committee to turn over some of his financial documents. This is a little out of character for Trump, as he has been viciously fighting these efforts for years, so why is he suddenly caving in? Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins has an answer for that question.

Link - https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-financial-records-house-committee-agreement-b2157608.html

Check out our merch by visiting our store: https://www.buyrof.com/

Subscribe to our podcast: http://www.ROFPodcast.com

Become a member today!: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYWIEbibRcZav6xMLo9qWWw/join

Support us by becoming a monthly patron on Patreon, and help keep progressive media alive!: https://www.patreon.com/TheRingofFire

Spread the word! After a three year long legal battle, Donald Trump finally said, all right, I give up, you can have it. Now the financial documents of course are of course, excuse me, are going to be coming from Mears, which was Donald Trump's accounting firm. The house oversight committee has been seeking these documents. As I mentioned for three years, it's been held up in court. Donald Trump has repeatedly lost. He recently lost a major case where the house weighs and means committee was trying to get their hands on his tax returns. Uh, that judge said, no, the IRS has to hand him over because your arguments are garbage. And it's basically the same thing with the oversight committee. Trump has argued with his lawyers have argued that, uh, you can't have these documents because you don't have a legitimate, legislative reason to have these documents.

And the committees have come back and said, actually, we do. We wanna make sure we don't have to put stronger ethics laws in place to prevent presidents like Trump from using the office of the presidency to enrich themselves. So we need his documents to see if that's what he did, because if he did, we're gonna pass this legislation. And the court said, well, if that was your biggest beef, Trump, they've got you there. You gotta turn 'em over. But Trump still had some appeals in his back pocket, right? He didn't have to just go with this latest court decision. He could have kept appealing, could have taken it all the way to his conservative Supreme court. So why give up now, right? I wonder if there's anything going on in Trump's life right now that would make him or his lawyers say, you know what?

We can't fight all these battles. We're gonna have to pick a couple and let him go. Because that's what I'm assuming has happened. In this particular instance, he has way too many fights going on. He has way too few lawyers that are competent enough to fight these battles. So he has to pick and choose. And because he has lost so many times, time after time after time with this, you know, hiding his finances from these house committees, I think his lawyers probably advised him, look, man, we're stretched thin as it is. We can't appeal this. Keep fighting it and work on keeping you outta jail. This one's not gonna send you to jail. So maybe this is the one we just let go. Maybe this is the one we say, okay, we cry uncle, go ahead and have the documents. We don't even care. We got bigger problems over here, down at Maralago. I'm assuming that is what's happened. Donald Trump is typically not the kind of guy to just roll over and say all he'd fine. You win.

In fact, he's never been that kind of guy. So for him to suddenly do it on this particular issue that he has fought so hard against kind of tells me that he understands how much trouble he's in and he's now finally starting to have to pick his battles wisely.
...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAynF8_Voak
