Replaying Ratchet & Clank after all these years highlights just how strong the foundation of the series was from the very beginning. The game play is exceptionally fun, creative, and varied, and it still holds up remarkably well. While the story is serviceable and charming, it does feel like there could have been more depth or expansion to it.
That said, the game’s strength lies in its mechanics, weapon creativity, and overall design philosophy. Its innovation and replay ability are standout elements, and it’s easy to see why this game launched one of PlayStation’s most beloved franchises. Even with minor narrative limitations, it remains an excellent and highly enjoyable experience.
